I say let him rot in a federal prison, or better yet in a military prison. 
(less prisoner rights.) He comes from a culture where killing him would make him into a martyr and make him just as much of a power dead as alive. Put him in prison and he is worthless. Killing him would let him off too easy. Put him in general population with military prisoners, preferably roomed with a guy who lost a friend in the war. Should solve that execution problem pretty easily.
