My knock sensor has been going bad for a while now but it only throws a code after its rained. I've been to cheap to spend the $80 on a new one.

i only have 1 last matched pair and they are in the 442's new rear engine

make sure the clip isnt broken and its an intermittent from when the trans was rebuilt

Make a piezoelectric crystal based sensor that responds to only a few specific vibration and sound frequencies running on 5v for less money.

But there is your answer: knock sensors are actualy very precisely tuned measurement instruments, even a little off and they will read false, or not at all.

X2 on the connection. the knock sensor on the rear bank always gets messed with during a trans rebuild. GM actually released it with its own pigtail that can be replaced if damaged.

also i dont always trust torque fyi i always got a p1133 and DHP and other scanners pick up a code

Measure resistance.... Should be between 90k ohms- 150k ohms iirc
