Well yes as you can imagine my gear is slipping, sometimes When i stop then go first gear doesnt catch why do i feel like someone is going to say get a new trans!!

not necessarily.... check your trans fluid level first.
do you beat on your tranny? do burnouts on the street or race alot? if not, toasting a trans is not likely (altho it could happen).
how many miles on the tranny? you just may need a service, filter, fluid flush, change and fill.

i just turned 70K on my car i got it with 63K i just added dome tranny fluid cause it is leaking a bit.. but i wam goignt o get that leak fixed tomorrow alos along with my brakes..

drop the pan .. and check for metal shavings... unless you beat on your car.. or if you are heavily modded.. I doubt it is your trans.. there are a bunch of factors that can cause that problem... give more details... as much as possible.. we will help...

Well i dont beat on my car and dont race it.. nor have i done any mods to it yet.. it is all stock....i did notice some tran fluid leak on the pan so i think the gasket is bad...what exactly should i tell the guy when he checks out my car.. to do?...i use my car just for driving to work and band practcie... tomorrow i will see if the trans slips in first agin cause tonight i refilled it a bit..

does it feel like it is not fully enguaged when leaving from a stop?
mine was like that, and it finally went one day. turned out my sun gear was all chewed up.

keep forgetting to get pictures of it.

Mine used to act up ocassionally, but it's fine now. A good fluid change and it was all better.

well my trans leak has been fixed thanks to the guys at rons auto in roselle.. great place to go.. They found that some of the bolts holding the trans pan on were loose... Which makes sense now.. cause i went to jiffy lube(which sucks) for oil change and a few days later i noticed the leak.. i am assuming they unscrewed some of the bolts so that i would come back for fixing.. how else do bolts on a trans go loose if u are driving your car like a grandma?>.. got my brakes fixed too. the front rotors were warped and back were rusted.. drives like a dream now.. thanks guys for helping me out here...If you need any personal favors ) et me know J/K
