3800 car system... need help

I am gona get subs... and everyone who is selling theirs only has like 300-400 wats... that i WEAK.. i thought??

what i am asking is.. what is the stock WATTAGE in the non-bose speaker system in a Grand Prix.. b/c my system BUMPS!!! i just need to know.. is it like 50 wats? i have no clue..

i dont know what the stock is, probly around 40 or 60 watts, but in my 97 im am pushing a little over 1300 watts (actual metered wattage)

-power accoustik 500 watt amp 2ohm stable
-a rectangular box that will fit 2 10"s but not custom fit to grand prix.. just a box.

well planz have changed... this is how it goes..

-3 12" JL W0's 275wrms each (825wrms total)
-Sony XM-D1000P5 800wrms at 2.6ohms
-custom fix box with carpet to a grand prix

all for $265 shipped.. now thats good... this is from 99SilverGTP from clubgp. what do u think

PPL!! Remember things are rated at PEAK WATTAGE!!

WHat you need to look for is RMS wattage (constant wattage to a speaker) This is what will give you a true indication of a systems potential and sustained wattage levels.!

I can have a 1000 watt speaker that only hits 250 watts RMS@!! WHoop te-do!!

BumpinGTP has the fawkin sweetest sounding system i'v ever heard. It wasn't even set at half boost, and i felt like my head was going to explode. And im running 800 RMS, out of 2 audiobahn 12's, nice kick when needed, but not a constant headache.

yea i hope my 400wrms sounds good in my car.. it sounded sweet in his.. and do you guys use insulation on the insides of your doors to kill rummble?? like when the car rattles? I hears its costly tho Can someone give me info on it

the whole back half of my car was sprayed with this sound deadener stuff, and then certain parts were covered in dynamat, yeah, it is pretty expensive but well worth it, rattles suck

I'm a JL fan so I say go for it, for the price of everything, cant beat it anywhere.

Sound dampening is definitly worth it. I used 2 whole car bulk packs of Dynamate extreme, retails $249 a pack, off ebay store $99. Did trunk, deck lid, rear deck, most of back seat, can't forget the front doors. The stuff is basicly peal and stick, then roll on. Still have some left and wanted to do the floor boards in front, but too cold now. wanted to get some heated seats in my baby, might as well do the floor. Great stuff, so quite in my car, trunk dosen't rattle at all and dosen't really sound loud outside at all, untill I crack the window

Bumpin-What ya got, I dunno? 1300 watts pretty loud. Any pics anwhere?

Me I got 2 10W7's off JL 1000/1 and a 450/4 to the MB Quarts Q-series 6.5 comps.
Alpine 7998, 5 farad, yellow top. Plexi box custom trunk and lid. No fiberglass, all wood, ok little bondo too.
