Wiper motor.. you guys ever experienced this?

When those bad storms were through here recently, my wiper motor stopped moving the wipers.. took it apart and this pin that keeps everything in check seems to be missing.

Would I be OK to tap it out inside and just put a long screw in there?

So where this pin goes isn't threaded? Pin was just pressed in? Any damage to the hole it goes into?

I think using a tap to cut threads and then use a set screw.....should work just fine.

if you use a screw make sure the threads on the screw are not going to cause a problem rubbing against anything.

IIRC it is one end of a spring, not a pin. You can kinda see it in the picture. The spring is there so it doesn't break if the wiper arm gets a little stuck.
