3800 Speedo Recal

I'm interested in getting 17" Rims. Through tirerack.com they suggested for me to get 224/55/17 so the speedo wont be thrown off. But i reall don't feel like getting that size and those specific tires are like 150+. I want to get Nitto 555R's in 245/45/17 and according the the tire calculator it will throw my speedo off 4 MPH at 65. Is there a way to correct this... i have heard that a Tech 2 will take care of this... am i correct???

ya i had the same problem when i got my 17" eagles with low profs. I just got used to going 30mph and the speedo saying 33mph. Made it look like i was going faster than i actually was..

SO MY CAR IS REALLY ONLY TOPPING OUT AT 124MPH INSTEAD OF 127?

maybe more like 120mph... as your speed increases... the gap increases... but if you got the stock PCM, and your car maxes out on the highways and drops RPMs, then you are going 127. However if you have a HUD, then it would say something like 135mph or sumthing around there. Goes off the wheel speed not the number it shows.
