you don't "really" need them coated. You could spend less and wrap them like I did, but that means you have to do work wrapping them, and that wasn't the funnest job. or you can save some money and not even do that.

I know its from jet hot, but they strongley advise against wraping headers, or what they call it as, "mumifying" your headers.
They talk about it in thier video. Not sure if itrs on thier website though.
They say that its bad bacause the inside of the header has all that trapped heat and nothing to protect the inside of the pipe(metal) from those extreme temperatures. They then talk about how its even worse on a SC, Turbo, or car with nos.
They say the best soulution is to coat them inside and out to protect both sides of the pipe and also, lower the outer temperature of the pipe even more......
