well i know this is the 3800 section, but i thought you guys might want to check it out.....

heres as far as ive gotten so far...

well got a few things done today, and ran into another minor issue. the 07 cam/gear is different than 05/06 1st design. the 07 ls4 cam uses a single cam bolt, and all other lsx cams use a 3 bolt design.
DOH! lol. so we need to order an lsx cam gear, that uses a 4x cam signal. not a huge deal, but we were planning on setting the motor back in, just without the lifter trays.
Also the pipe plugs we got to plug off the DOD oil ports are the wrong size....i need to get some npt plugs this weekend too.

on a plus side, the zzp 2750 stall will work great, i was able to elongate the 258mm tc holes to allow for the 245 unit. should be some nice gains when it's all said and done.

here are some pics of the progress

lol taste the rockies!

the car is my good buddy aarons 07 gxp. the 05/06 had a first design/second design cam set, which we didnt know about lol.

we could have easily just lowered the motor/tranny/frame low enough to slide the cam off, however we are adding the 2750 converter as well, so it was easier to pull the motor. the cam is a 218/227 w/ 112 lsa. should have a nice thump, but be very streetable. would like to get this thing into the 12's this summer!

it has been done once already on ls1tech....very minimal gains...hopefully this one will be better.

ive seen 3 people who have done it, but two of them were stock ls2 cams, and one was an ls6. not very big gains fwiw, the one guy actually said the stock can was quicker than the ls6. this cam is a mild cam for an lsx, but will be a nice jump from the stock unit. we got all the parts today, and will be heading out to the garage as soon as the beer gets here!

well i dont have any updated pics yet, been too busy, but the car runs, and runs very well. the cam has a nice lope to it, but it's totally streetable! there is a noticable drop in low end power, however the top end is amazing. it has not been tuned at all yet, we probably only put about 20 miles on it, no leaks, so it's good.

it almost feels like you hit a go switch at 4500 rpms. no doubt we will be shifting this thing to 6500 to make the most of it.
