luckily the car is just in my garage... i went to open the trunk with the key and half of it snapped off in the trunk lid. neat.

dont open your trunk by lifting with the key?

you can pop the lock out of the lid easily and a few slaps against a desk should dislodge the broken portion

iirc just have that broken stub near/next to your spare key when you start it and the pk3 should query the chip just fine so try starting with your spare next to the broken one

lil late for the don't open your trunk by lifting with the key thing there james. thanks for your insight though.

and i'd rather not have to have a broken key with me to make my car run.

1. P ut the new key into the ignition. Turn it to the ON

15 minutes.
2. Once the dashboard security light stops flashing,

add duplicate key:
1. Put the current key into the ignition.
2. Turn the ignition ON and back to OFF.
3. Remove the current key and insert the new key, turning

4. The security light will switch on for two seconds,
confirming that the key has been successfully
programmed into
the vehicle.
