Building a 04-08 gtp

I have an odd urge to build one im thinking this may a good street machine. My gas grocery getter as i have been wanting! Reliability is definitely there.

So what would it take to get a gtp into the 12s consistently and daily drive?

Probably because 98-02 is better platform

Turbo it and call it a day. Seriously, while I love selling people parts bit by bit to make a nice supercharged car, a turbo setup gives you more torque, a flatter torque curve, much more power up top (where the M90 cars fall on their face) and it's a reliable setup.

ZZP's Z3 kit with an intercooler is a nice setup for the price and you'll have a solid 12 second car with absolutely no compromises when it comes to daily driving.

if it were me and keeping supercharger- build basic.

intercooler is a must iimo although dd's unicorn of a car doesn't need one.

But I would do IC/headers/rockers/pulley with the gen5 that the car should have and you would be close to the 12s.

and i wouldn't necessarily say 97-03 are a better platform...


also. i would just z3 kit it and be done.

Z3 turbo as said, a z3 with stock everything else should put you over 300whp pretty easy, you can save some money by going with a gt over a gtp

I had one of those back in the day I wish I would have kept it, very cool but hard to find anymore since the turbo works so much better

x300 with a turbo kit, ebay intercooler setup to DIY and save $, boom. My turbo'd GTP everything else stock (like KJ) moved out for being on just 11-12psi. Easily a 12sec car.

Go turbo. It seemed like my supercharged setup was always struggling to run good. Best was a 12.80. And now my impala with a junk cartuning kit, barely tuned, on 13psi seemed a hell of a lot faster.

headers, cam, no IC + E85 = 12s
Headers, IC, rockers = 12s
turbo kit, rockers = low 12s, high 11.

fastest rundown ever.

I got 185 miles driving in town with a 21 gallon tank

wellllllllll ...... probably a dirty maf sensor that is stalling or your spark plugs are not indexed properly.
