04 comp g squeeling

Wife has a 04 compg gtp. A few weeks ago the it sounded as if the supercharger coupler was going bad. Well I never changed it but now that noise stops and it makes a high pitch squeel. I can't pinpoint where the noise is coming from under the hood. Any ideas on what it may be or any help leading me to diagnosis.

SC coupler sounds like rocks rattling around, high pitched squeal is usually the belt slipping hard, so you have a pulley sieved or very hard to turn... Take the belts off and spin each pulley by hand, they should all spin pretty freely.

Usually it is the SC idler, or the idlers on one of the tensioners, but it could also be an actual accessory.

yeah youll have to pop the belts of one at a time to see if ya can find it.

fyi rich had replaced all his idlers and still had a squeal...turns out his crankcase vent was plugged off.

so also take your oil cap off and see if your hearing air whistling past the crank/engine seals

tried the belts/pulleys and all spin freely and quietly, ill pull the oil cap off tomorrow and see what happens.

get a 3 ft rubber hose and shove one end into your ear, then duck tape it furiously to your head...then go listening around the belt, it may help to let the belt grab the hose somehow
