hids and drl??

So i have a 00 gs. In short installed a hid kit from ddm first kit worked fine, moved it to my fogs. installed another kit for my lows and on first start up drivers light will not come on, turn the lights off then back on and it comes on. did a search on Google and found a lot of sites saying to disable the drl and the auto feature. Could this be the cause or something else. had to reverse polarity for the kit to work.

i switched bulbs and balllast and same results on same side.

installed say kit on my buddies 2011 lacrosse and same results on the same side.

Once in a while one of my HID headlights wouldn't lite, I just turn them off and back on. Helps if car is running. I didnt also have fogs.

Yea i looked for that fuse couldnt find one, looks like i have to rewire the bcm to disable the drl and wanted to know if that would help or just a waste of time.

anyone know if i can disable them using a dhp tuner just got one but has no idea how to use it.

Pull the relay for it. There should be a relay that says DRL

Looked for a relay also ill check again but could not find anything that said drl under the hood or inside the car maybe its one of the bcm fuses/relays just got to figure out which one if any at all

Regal has DRL? You might need the HD harness for the HIDs

I did order one with the original set but never installed it and the kit did work just fine, with the second kit I'm having problems which seems a lil strange strange

You should have one for both kits. I'm running into a similar problem with my GP, I'm just too lazy to hook up my harness (I have one for the fogs) so one headlight only turns on half the time. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow....

Not sure if its the same on your GS but on the GP's on the side of the dash pad when you open the door there is a service panel that pops off and there is a silver and black box about the size of a cell phone with heat sink fins coming off of it that is for the drl's, i disconnected mine and the drl's no longer work but the auto lights still come on when its dark out.

I would suggest you try the harness re-wire before you mess with any bcm wireing. When i first put my hid in my monte they wouldnt turn on. Had a friend re wire the set up and put the head lights on a switch...been working flawless for over 5 years. Hid's are from w body store... Get those. I havent even needed to change a bulb the entire time i have owned them.

I pulled my relay and my fuse and no problems at all.

that was counting before my car didn't move...maybe a little bit after as well. They have worked a lot of miles though was really my point.
