New to the board so let me introduce myself. My name is Matt and I'm from schererville, in. I've been working on a 00 Daytona gtp full out build since late April of this year. The build includes heads/cam/turbo engine mods, full suspension, custom bodywork & paint, also custom leather interior.
Now to the problem: losing boost into the crankcase. I can't get much if any positive manifold pressure. I can feel the air movement when I put my hand over the oil fill opening on the valve cover and I burn oil when I spool up the turbo.
Engine specs:
Stattama t67 kit
Stock L67 bottom end
L36 manifold conversion
Ported stage 2 L36 throttle body
Zzp stage 3 heads
Stattama #4 turbo cam
1.7 yt roller rockers
Double roller timing set
Balance shaft removed
I have plugged off the pcv port in the lower manifold and also the port in the throttle body which were my main suspects for the loss of boost. But it obviously didn't correct the problem. The engine runs smoothly with 15 in of vacuum at idle. If I disconnect the turbo piping and run the engine n/a, I do not get any positive pressure in the crankcase or burn oil. I am legitimately baffled and frustrated with this situation as I have covered anything I can possibly think of and have removed and installed the intakes numerous time to check sealing and gaskets and look for other possibilities. Any ideas or help appreciated.
