Need help with cam install... will pay!

Hey there guys I am in the process of installing an ST1 cam, I am having issues getting the crank pulley bolt out, I am not very experienced with this, therefore I would like to have someone help me taking out the required hardware and installing the new one!

Will pay, I have pretty much all the tools needed minus an impact wrench, and YES I have looked up all the methods into taking it off.

You just need a big impact gun or you can do it the ghetto way with bolts threaded way into the balancer and jam a big pry bar in between to hold it.

Is the motor on a stand or in the car, I just did one yesterday on the stand with a screwdriver through the stand into a hole on the flex plate

clamp vice grip to flexplate to keep motor from spinning. let the vicegrip butt up against starter boss to keep it from rotating. same way we do it outside of the car.

I dont think the flexplate will break if that is a reservation you have...

you need to just block the flexplate from spinning, like D said. Vice grips is one way.

probably going to want an impact to remove the balancer anyway.

Or you could put your socket and ratchet on, and hit the handle with a mini sledge to simulate a impact gun blow to break loose.

use a strong breaker bar and socket that will wedge itself against the control arm. (captured int he slot between the control arm bushings)

disable fuel/ign bump engine with the breaker bar able to swing a bit before it "impacts" and breaks it free

Both the vice-grip method and the starter method work well.

Have a set of vise grips for pipe (They have a chain on the end) that I use for this sorta thing. Awesomest vise grips ever.
