So I Found a lead on a clean roller with a bad v6 that's knocking. Consuming oil and coolant. Car has a good transmission. Body and interior seem to be in awesome shape. Owner says no rot anywhere, no rust, blah blah blah.

What are the differences between the fwd and rwd 3800? What all do I need to make my engine work in that car? If it is not too difficult I want to pick it up and swap my motor in. Only differences I've seen is lower / upper intake and coil pack mounting bracket.. obviously engine mounts too. Learn me!

So.. . You're asking what it would take to put a 3800 in a fox body?

That is just about the dumbest thing... Buy a fucking V8 and stop dicking around with this platform.

You complain to have no money yet keep wanting to take on ridiculous projects.

Pick up a high mileage ls1 and stop farting around.

I meant f body. Wasn't thinking when I made it. I want to know what differences (if any) the 3800 in the fbody has (mounting stuff) vs the 3800 in the fwd. I have a nice engine I can put in it. That way I won't completely lose everything I've invested.

It's a terrible idea dude. Total waste of money. Period. Stop asking for advice if you don't want to hear it.

How is it a waste of money? My thought process is that I can bolt it in and send mine to the yard. Its just an idea to see what it would take. I don't deserve to have people sit here and bully me for asking questions on something I don't know.
