Looks like you have some holes already so it is pretty far gone as it is now.

you have untill the upper/outter edge of the heavy stamped piece rot away then it will be able to fold upwards but even then the strut will drop and it will sit under the rear deck so at worst it drops 4 inches.

you have probably a year or so,,,doubt it'll go for more than 2 winters from now

I have heard a squeaking noise recently so when I went to my buddy's shop today to find the A/C leak, I looked at the back and that's when I saw this. When it was on the ground, I had someone lean on the car and that's the area it's coming from.. what would be squeaking? BRAND NEW within the past six months struts/mounts/etc all 'round. The metal???

the metal moving is possibly what your hearing....you could have a joint weld in a flat gusst plate to tie the bucket to the outter wheelhouse again but then youll want to seal it up good then after it cures oil the fuck outta the backside to preserve what you cant get to for longer....

dont get a fucking impala SS, those things are so stupidly over priced... 04 L67 and people sell them for like 10k... what a joke

buy a stock or nicely mild modded CLEAN gs or gtp or hell non-SS impala for half the price and then paint the engine orange for the heritage
