Pregen 96 GP transmission taking off in third....

96 GP transmission taking off in third....

...or at least it feels like it is taking off from third could be fourth. When it gets hot it will not take off as usual or from first gear. Instead it feels like it is taking off from a higher gear.

Someone mentioned a relay that may be sticking or latched on.

Any ideas? I appreciate any help.

EDIT: forgot to mention that shifting it into 1st does not help. The only way to fix it is to shut it off.

First off if you call it a pregen again I will cut you....


Your FIRST gen Wbody has a 2nd gear start button on the panel underneath the steering wheel right by your left knee. Make sure its not turned on.

Other than that I'd say your forward gear is kaput. Or something int the trans is gone. Check the fluid as well...

fluid was a little high and brown. i will check the 2nd gear button but i agree the trans is cooked.

Sorry. Pregen is just the clubgp fucks being stupid. Most REAL wbody enthusiats hate the word pregen.

How does the trans fluid smell/feel?
