Easiest Newish Suv to Service/Maintain/Repair

Looking to ship a vehicle to my brother overseas so its never gunna see a dealership. In the 20k -30k price range for awd or 4wd that can handle bit of brick potholed and dirt roads that can become partially flooded when it rains.

Looking at a used 4runner or previous gen new cx-5. Dont have any experience with them are fluids changes easy, are they reliable; Any other suggestions?

If you're considering Toyota's, I'd consider just buying something there/something that can be bought there.

the cars they sell over there are mostly junk cars that have been exported from other lhd countries. You dont buy new, its whatevers available. Granted they do have Mercedes, Jaguar, Landrover dealerships even those new vehicles are imported from Europe. Its easier just to buy new here and ship over parts depending on size.

Do they have a programmer for the 4runner like dhp tuner for Gms?
