And the election is over so I'm not sure what Hillary has to do with anything. Comparing the two is rather pointless. Trump is our president but that's not to say he'll be a good president or even a good person. In fact, considering how he's acting so far, I think all signs point to the next four years being a source of endless entertainment.

I have an easy time understanding why people voted for the man given the choices they had but what I don't get is people who defend him as being competent or kind as if either was ever up for debate. Now that he's won people are suddenly trying to portray him as something he never was and they do it in the face of him still acting like a thin skinned ass. It's like they're trying to convince someone that Trump isn't the kind of person that will punch you in the stomach as he's standing there punching you in the stomach. His most ardent followers refuse to accept that he's the person he is despite the fact that he continues to prove them wrong.

Well I hope that I didn't give off the impression that I think he is the ideal President or a great guy. But frankly I am ecstatic to see him in office considering the alternative. I think a lot of the pushback you are seeing about him could be attributed to the way that the majority of the media portrayed both candidates and the fact that honest journalism is, for the most part, dead. Personally, I see the overwhelming bias and feel compelled to push back in an attempt to even the scales. I'd openly admit that he certainly has personality flaws, it's not hard to see. But that level of honesty and openness is also incredibly refreshing, coming from a politician. It might not be pretty, but it beats having a vetted robot take office this time around, at least to me.

Honestly...everyone hating Trump is one of the main thing that made me vote for him. The media hates him, the democrats hate him, the republicans hate him (even though they're acting all nice now), social justice warriors hate him, elitists hate him, Obama hates him, Bush hates him, the Koch brothers hate him, China hates him, Mexico hates him, the list goes on and on and on.

I'll take all the bullshit we've seen so far, just to have someone get elected to president that is such a big F*** YOU to the entire shitty establishment and overly politically correct culture we've had for so long now.

I think it makes you REALLY WONDER ***WHY*** they all hate him - I think its because he is the closest thing to anti-establishment anti-swamp that we could have achieved from this election cycle.

Is he the best most stand up human being on the planet? Hell no. But Pence is a pretty damn good person and I believe he will be affecting much of the policy and decisions coming from the White House - which gives me a bit of peace of mind.

That's all fair. I can understand that. I also understand that the media tries very hard to play into certain narratives. That said, you don't have to try with him. There's decades of him being a lying, thin skinned, untrustworthy hypocrite. And this is why I have such a hard time with people trying to paint him as something else rather than saying they just didn't want Hillary. The latter is ok. The former is disingenuous.

And the bit about him being "real" or just being anti-establishment. He's a fucking billionaire businessman that has openly admitted to greasing palms when it needs to be done. I don't understand how people are making that argument. He is more establishment than many recent candidates. You want to talk about media narratives... This is a narrative right wing media was pushing HARD. "Trump is just like us!". No, no he isn't. Not unless you have a penthouse apartment in Manhattan with enough gold trim to make a Persian blush.

And then there's the honesty bit. How does anyone believe anything the guy says? He literally says whatever he thinks a certain crowd wants to hear. KJ tripped into it by accident but he made a great point: he's a politician and worse yet, he's a natural politician. The rest of these guys get training in how to be liars. It comes naturally to the Donald.

But look at the Meryl Streep thing as just one of many examples. What did he say about her after her tirade?

"Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a....."

But just a year ago when asked who his favorite actresses were this is what he had to say:

"a Roberts is terrific, and many others,” Trump told The Hollywood Reporter’s Janice Min, before adding, “Meryl Streep is excellent; she’s a fine person, too.”

You can't have it both ways. You can't emphatically be for someone and then immediately against them the moment they disagree with you. And the same goes with all of his "friends". How many celebrities has he done nothing more than shake their hand and then he comes out and says they're great friends? And you know it's not true. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows it's not true but lest you think I'm judging him based on that, I'm not. What it says though is that he is a very comfortable liar. He has no problem bullshitting.

So this whole narrative about a guy who's not afraid to tell it like it is and who's anti-establishment is just really perplexing to me. I don't get it and I've yet to find a person that can tell me how great Donald Trump is on his own merits rather than how much better he is than Hillary Clinton.

In closing, two important things because I don't want to be labeled as something I'm not.

1. I hope he does great. I hope his need for positive attention gives him the drive to be the best damn president our nation has ever seen. I'm not rooting against the guy like a lot of liberals are doing and like basically the entire Conservative party did when Obama was elected to office. I sincerely hope he does great.

2. I think Meryl's statement was a bit presumptuous and hypocritical. Unlike others here, I don't mind when celebrities use their status and their stage to share their views, whether it's about climate change, politics or just how much they like puppies. We put them on the pedestal and we can take them off. While they're on it they are welcome to say what they want. That said, she basically went on to denigrate MMA and football as crap that the rest of Americans do. I don't find pleasure in either of them but plenty of people do and I'm sure they didn't appreciate the reference. I think it's hypocritical of her to indirectly disparage the spectators of these sports but it plays well to her audience.

Ten more days until, I hope, we can see what Trump will do as President rather than what people say he is going to do.

I really hope the next four years are not going to be filled with inconsequential BS like pussy grabbing and wrist movements.

One good side effect of the liberal mass media is Trump will have to be more careful about breaking the laws and favoring the rich.

Other than that, you can send them all to the moon where they can live in happy Neil Patrick Harris land.

I fully expect that a big riot has been planned and will be attempted by the left at Trump's inauguration.

He believes in a moral code and personal accountability instead of the pure degeneracy that has festered in the previous 8 years. Something leftists can't stand because it interferes with the victim complex and their cash cow.

Not a follower either, maybe the Indiana crew can provide more insight into how it was when he ran Indiana

This has always followed him but I don't know if there's been any factual evidence behind it?

I feel like it is from a very long time ago kind of thing. But you know how it goes. Get caught pissing in a children's park, and your a child molester for life.

A pretty damn good explanation of why they pushed the handicap narrative of Trump making fun of the reporter...

All of these award shows are stupid. Just a bunch of celebs patting themselves on the back, telling lame jokes. How people watch them is beyond me. The only good thing to come from them are the musical numbers from the Tony Awards.
