Went out this afternoon, I took a few break's and went in and painted my boat's trailer once it was dry in the launch parking lot. Just primer gray until next time I go and it's not windy, it was white but probably going to do gray as it looks good in the primer and matches the boat.(Lund Pro V) All I got was this little guy, had another low 30" pike on but lost it playing around with it as I forgot to bring my net...

Lets go sometime! It's fun when they have some size to them. I have a few lakes around here that you can do well on just Pike if I go target them specifically. I am looking for these guy's though or Hybrid Muskies which is a Musky and Northern Pike crossbreed which makes a Tiger Musky.

Humminbird is really nice as it talks to my Minn Kota trolling motor and can auto pilot me around the lake. Say I want to stay on and 8ft Contour and go around the lake just click on the follow contour map with the cursor and gps will take me around that 8ft line all by it self making corrections for wind and what not. Plus spot lock feature and normal autopilot mode. Pretty sure Humminbird is still the only brand that links up with Minn Kota. Lowrance and Garmin make really nice units too, don't know if they do or which brands of trolling motors they link up to.

Went out again, painted boat trailer and got one Pike again 24.5" on a bucktail and had one musky follow. Cottonwood was flying everywhere when the wind changed, you can see it in the air/water in the last picture. Stuff got inside my Abu Toro reel... Now I get to open it up and give it a good cleaning with a Cue-tip/rubbing alcohol and then re-lube it up. Saw a few Pelicans around and a Red Breasted Loon and ran into DNR which all 3 are rare to see in the area...

Was bored so I said fuck it and went out for the last few hours of the evening. Got this little Musky 10 minutes in from getting on the water on a bucktail. Watched it bite right @ the boat! Chunky little guy, so cool to see them small because it means they are successful at natural breading as most stocked Musky's have a clippled pectoral fin. Had one other follow and that was it high 30"range. Probably gonna get after them again tomorrow now...

I fished salt creek under 294 and at Grau mill after work. The water was up a few feet and full of all kinds of debris. Spent probably an hour total fishing with nothing

Driving up to far northwest Michigan for a week. The lake we stay on sucks for fishing. There are a couple little ponds and creeks in the area that are decent, but it's usually just panfish and little BS. A couple years ago GF pulled out a monster smallie (4ish pounds) out of a little creek on an ultra light rod and reel with 4 pound test (I primarily use that rod for panfish and trout.) We might go out exploring and see if we can't find a little lake. Not bringing the kayaks up this year though. Too much of a hassle, especially where there's a place in town we can rent them for cheap.

Went out for a little bit at lunch. All I was able to pull in was a few bluegill.
One I felt back for. Half of it's tail was missing and it had a rather large gash across the top of it's body. Something was looking to snack on him.

It's a Trophy Fish CPR Alway's!(catch photo and release) It takes a super long time for them to grow into the really big one's. The first 4 years they can grow up to 32" and then every year after that it's only an 1 inch possibly 2 inches if lot's of fatty bait fish are available but the 2" growth rate is rare, only a few big bodies of water like Greenbay can produce like that.

Yup same with pike but if you cook them just right they're not that bad, well I've never ate a Musky but had pike a few times. Pike are really good the way my Dad pickles them!

Need to put on a gopro, it was a great fight he came out of the water head-shaking 4 separate times would've been some great footage!
