Great pitching not good pitching. Cubs starters have a .048 era thru 3 games. The way they stayed composed and picked Schwarber up can be chalked up to as Maddon said and not in a cocky way “been there and done that”
I will be at game tomorrow, hoping to see them clinch the series. Need “good Jake” to show up

Totaly disappointmented in the Cubs and MLB today, total fucking money grab. Rumor has it both the Cubs and Nats requested the game start at 1pm to get it in today. MLB and the Cubs knew there was like a 99% chance they wouldn’t get the game in if it started at 4:30. So instead of canceling early enough for people not to show up they proceed as if the game will be played. Get 30,000 people there to buy food, beer, soft drinks and souvenirs and wait till 5:30 to cancel the game.......smfh. Feel bad for the people that paid a shit ton of money for parking. Luckily I only spent about $50 on food and drink as I usually can park for free if I get down there before my buddies lot is full. From what I was hearing it was more so MLB calling the shots than the Cubs. Either way they both hand their hands in the cookie jar.

Yea, I was saying the same thing as I listen to the Score all day. They weren't sure...

Dude, I can look at the fucking radar now and tell you the game should probably be cancelled if it was a 4:30 start and that was around 1 when in transition to Bernstein and Goff. How the hell could MLB not figure that out...

Now the next question... Why is Dusty not playing his Cy Young pitcher in such a crucial game with the extra day now?? If they lose, you can bet the talk on Washington sports radio will be that decision.

Strausberg might pitch today. Washington hasn't made it official, but reports are coming out from multiple sources.

No one had to tell Dusty anything, it's a no brainer for Strusburg to pitch today. Just as Cubs should send out Hendricks if they want to close out today.

Up until a few hours ago, Dusty was sticking with Roark. Dusty said so in a press conference yesterday.

Since it has come out that Strausberg was sick, on IV's, and can now play, so Dusty is going to push him out there, even though he may not be at 100%.

So yea, he must've had a change of heart.

So both yesterday and today my buddy and I had about a 30 min conversation with Mike Bryant, KB father. He is such a cool fucking dude, talks to you like he has known you 20 years and acts like we are just sitting in a bar shooting the shit. Had some very interesting things to say about Bryce Harper and his family and will not post it on a public forum. One thing he did say today and I will post it. He said Strasbourg’s agent ( Boras) who is also KB’s agent called Strasbourg and basically told him it’s in your best interest to pitch tonight’s game. Asked him to eleborate a little more, and he wouldn’t lol.

Eh, dont think that was the case. I think it was more so if Washington lost and he refused to pitch because he had "allergies". He would have lost a shit ton of money from endorsements both now and in the future and might have possibly hurt him on his next contract. I think he can opt out and become a free agent next year or the following year. If he stays healthy he is looking at another monster contract.

I won $100 because the Indians were eliminated. My brother bet me $100 Cleveland would win it all, so I had the rest of the field. Couldnt turn that down

It's always easy to 2nd guess Maddon and for the most part I try not to. But why is Zobrist still starting? I realize he had one of our few hits but he hasn't done much for us all year and would of much rather seen Happ or LaStella get a start against Strasburg. And this whole yanking the pitcher early thing needs to go. Lester should have finished the inning at the very least. He earned it after that pickoff.

What do you think Rizzo said to him after that ugly pickoff? When the guy starts dancing and make a move towards 2nd fire it over and trust me to catch it? He probably had to come out because it through his mechanics off. Lol

Good question about Zobrist as Lastella actually has better career numbers against Strausberg, probably playoff experience being a bigger factor. Agreed 100% that Lester not only should have finished the inning but finished the game. He had retired 10 in a row up to that point. No way in hell Lester would have been available for today or even the 1st game of the NLCS so not sure what the thought process was behind pulling him.

I think the issue was revolving around Strasberg's aura of being "soft" or "fragile". He can pitch great but only when the environment is a perfect conditions kinda thing. So him being "sick" and not being able to start at the most critical juncture of their season, facing elimination, would've cemented (no pun to my name), that.

This gets me hard though. Seeing a division rival (to my Sox), the one that scorched the league, getting the hook, warms those harbles.

Playoff experience or not Zobrist has been a disappointment. Happ deserves a chance and LaStella should have been an offensive improvement but one that weakens the defense up the middle ( probably pushing KB to left and Javi to 3rd) shit I would have been fine with Biez sitting honestly. Strasburg struck out something like 49% of right handed hitters this year.

Yes, can totally agree with what your saying about Strasberg.

Yeah you guys (SUX fans) have been waiting a long time to talk shit to us, about 2 years....Oct 15. LOL
And I know its coming the second we are eliminated.

Figured Sux fans would have rooted for Cleveland being they are in your division. I know a few of my buddies were rooting for them for that reason

I'll just smile happily. I won't say anything... Maybe...

NO! I wouldn't root for ANY division rival.

In the NFL, I don't root for the Lions, the 'Queens, and certainly not the shitheads to the north with puke green and diarrhea yellow colors

In the NHL, I don't root for the Wild, Predators, Blues...

So why would I root for Cleveland, Detroit, KC...

Well for awhile, it was the toughest division in baseball. Each year for several years, it came down to the last game to determine the winner of it, including a couple years in a row where a playoff game to determine the winner OF that division was had.
