💦 Detailing Glass Polish

Has anyone had a first hand experience polishing glass? I have some scratches from wiper blades and its really starting to drive me nuts, I have tired gtechniq g4 glass polish and from what i can tell it didnt do anything if much at all

Any reservations on using a Polish designed for paint ?

I have scratches on the back window of the camaro but have never attempted anything...

The videos I've watched on YT about this EXACT same thing show using car polish. I have to do this to the SHO cause the windshield is hella scratched from the wipers. I was going to just get a new window, but a quick search on the subject brought a bunch of information about being able to polish out the scratches, which of course is much cheaper than replacing it.

Try barkeepers friend, I have used it in the past on old glass and was pretty amazed!

I've used a normal swirl removal polishing compound on my windshield to clean it, but it didn't noticeably remove any scratches.

I've had good results with ceriglass from car pro along with their glass pads. If you are trying to do this with a porter cable or the like, don't waste your time. You need a rotary and you want to keep the product wet, as it will dry quickly from the heat.

I can do it with either a rotary or a rupes da. Do you have a suggestion on what pad to use such as a wool pad or a finer finishing pad.

Carpro also sells a glass pad, their rayon pads, they're what I used. Depending how deep the scratches are it may take a bit

What this guy says! Mark the scratch area on the INSIDE of the glass with tape, it'll help when things get a bit messy as water is added.

Car polish=waste of time.

I ended up finding some cerium oxide at work and mixed it up and wasnt able to make any noticeable difference at all with a rotary and really putting a lot of heat to it.

No i didnt, just a heavy cut wool pad
