Had a detail appointment today, my first "real" customer (ahem..not friend or family  ). This Sonata had the nastiest interior I've done yet. There was some type of shit sprayed across the headliner too that I had to get out (later learned it was beer :wtf:  ). I was fighting those stains on the seats, no matter what I threw at it...(carpet cleaners, even a DIY mixture my wife found that normally does wonders) some of them just weren't coming out. I finally gave up, and am overall very happy with the outcome. The owners were floored too at the difference!

First off, nice job. Looks great!

Also, fuck light colored interiors. Impossible to get them clean and looking even. If you scrub too much you have to rescrub the entire thing. What are you using for carpets and seats? Hot water and a wet vac? One thing to look out for on this light fabric interiors is that dirt will "wick" up from the seat as the water soaks and dries. You don't want to soak them too much.

Although, if you want to continue detailing and you consider this "nasty" you are in for some pain  This is pretty average for a car owned by someone with kids. This is coming from a former detailer.

What do you use to clean the cloth seats. You have a nice steam cleaner?

That is something I need to invest in. I have a vacuum style shampooer with the detachable wand, but I think it needs to be cleaned out. No longer dispenses the actual cleaning solution. So, recently I've just been putting the liquid you'd normally add to the vacuum into a spray bottle, then agitating if needed...and using the wand with the hot water and sucking it up.

My wife found this "recipe" for getting shit out of car upholstery, and it worked great on her light gray interior of her Impala. Blue Dawn dish soap, vinegar, water, and something else.

No kidding. That was the problem with the headliner, I think I over saturated it a bit and I was starting to see that issue. I solved it, though.

I must not have very dirty friends or family with children then. I've been detailing on/off for close to 8 years now(regularly for the past few months) and this is by far the worst.
