Ceramic Coating is not hard to apply IMO, but a little more involved than wax. I think the biggest factors to having success with applying ceramic coating is applying the coating in a controlled, well lit environment like a garage and following the manufacturer's recommendations. It is also super helpful to hop onto Autogeek or another detailing forum and see what other detailers recommendations are for applying. Someone somewhere has usually worked with the coating and might have some pointers as well.

Kind of, the truck belongs to one of the installers at work.
He inquired about a detail in the spring time.... then asked me a couple weeks ago how warm it has to be
he submitted his application for the show and was accepted.

That's not a bad idea ! Sadly, I think I will be spending my time on a ladder.... FML.
He is going to be handling the wheels and all of the podwer coated suspension, so my work will strictly be paint correction and whatever he chooses for a LSP. Thinking ceramic coating but could also go with WG Deep gloss paint sealant.
Time ? depends on how well the paint correcting goes. If I can get away with a 1 step then 6-8 hours ? If a 2 step process is needed, then it could be a LONG day.

So I think I’m going to try and do a ceramic coating on my Hellcat. Of course I will do a full paint correction first. Thoughts on the Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Coating from any of you guys who deal with ceramic coating? Open to suggestions as well.

Yes, I have the WG UCC on my truck. Compared to other coatings like CQuartz, Opti-coat, G-tecniq and even Gyeon Mohs, WG costs more money.

Does that mean it's better ? Not necessarily. I will be applying CQuartz UK to my sisters Pilot and my neighbors G35 this spring.

The WG is easy to apply, a little bit goes a long way and I really like the way my truck looked when finished.

As for durability / longevity, My truck is a daily driver... and it doesn't fit in my current garage...so it sees ALL weather ALL year. at almost 18 months the middle to lower areas of the door and bed panels have lost some of the hydrophobic properties. I don't think it's completely "gone."

I choose to maintain it with CarPro reset which is a car shampoo formulated for coated vehicles. it doesn't cost anymore than any of the other premium car washes / shampoos on the market.

Long story short, if you are okay with the price, then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the WG coating.

Thanks Gav and yes I'm okay with the cost. I have used other WG products and really like them hence the reason I'm going to use their ceramic coating.
Any do's or dont's that I should be aware of? This is the first time I will be using a ceramic coating and dont want to screw it up. I read articles and watched videos for about 2hrs last night and am pretty confident in myself, but the more info the better imo.

Shit, forgot I have a couple of other questions.

I'm going to start using a foam gun for my washes this year.
Does that eliminate the need for the 2 bucket wash or do I still use the 2 bucket method?

After the ceramic coating can you still throw a coat of wax on here and there to get the shine to really pop or not needed?

Lint free towels to remove the high spots / buff once the product has "flashed."
Autogeek may have a sale where they include the Perfekt finish paint prep.
This is similar to a 50/50 alcohol/water solution or CarPro eraser.
it ensures all polishing oils, dust, finger prints etc are removed before the coating gets applied.

I used the Lake Country foam applicator that came with the kit.
The pinhole that is in the applicator tip is SMALL. So be careful when using the suringe "plunger" to dispense the product.

Personally, I'm a bit OCD, so I still use the 2 bucket method. I have graduated to a foam cannon and still use the 2 bucket method. Piece of mind... or peace of mind ??

anyways, There's 1 guy on YouTube who uses 1 bucket with like 5-6 wash mitts. To each their own.

As for the "topper" I don't think there is a need to top the coating with a wax or sealant. I've used the WG on light and dark colored vehicles and I don't think any depth or gloss is lost when only using the coating.

Mike Phillips on Autogeek described the "look" of the WG coating to a clear candy coated shell.
works for me

WG ceramic coating ordered, ordered the 30cc. Says it’s enough for 6 mid size cars, not sure what they consider “mid size”. Hoping it’s enough for my Charger, daughters Wrangler and Wife’s Cherokee.
