What were you using to rinse? Just soap and water? Any specific product?
When I need to clean pads mid detail, I'll scrub them with some water and a few drops of dish soap, then rinse it thoroughly. When finished, I put it on my porter cable and spin it dry. 5-10 seconds at full speed is enough to get the pad dry enough to use again.

I've also used Pinnacle XMT pad cleaner and it works great. It rinses easier than using dish soap and works just as quickly.

Not until I come see you or we have a detail party. There a few spots on the hood and rear bumper I can't get out with what I have. That's what I was talking about the car looks perfect in pics but I see some scratches I know can come out I just don't trust many people.

slight update, truck was dirty from driving in snow earlier in the week.

after driving around on wet streets today. the side of the truck looked somewhat clean.
WG coating seen here on the hood as the snow melts:

also, the McKee's glass coating is doing well.

long term spring time updates will be posted in the review thread

^^ Indeed. But, it is most likely a special promo due to the price. With the coupon, it was under $30 for both, and each of them are over $30 each, so it's about half off.

I grabbed one, which I may not use in addition to the vintage CG kit I bought for over $130 a year ago as well. Collecting detail supplies FTW!

Now that I have a vehicle worthy of polishing and keeping glistening (and I'm too lazy to find Jason's posts about the orbital deals) which polisher should I get?

Chemical Guys - TORQ 10FX Random Orbital Polisher Kit (10 items)

or

Chemical Guys BUF503X - TORQ TORQX Random Orbital Polisher Kit (8 Items)

Looks like the only difference is the RPM of the device where the 10FX can go almost twice as high as the TORQX. Since I'm a newbie, that's not something I want am I right? Faster speed = easier chance to burn shit and want to punch myself in the face? Then they also have a bigger package deal with the TORQX that includes the cleaning solution for the pads and microfibers for fine buffing: Chemical Guys - TORQ TORQX Complete Detailing Kit (13 Items)

Then I need wax. And that sealant from Amazon "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months." lolwat

they both have an 8mm "throw" which is more than a PC 7424XP.
the 10FX has a digital speed setting control + a different on off switch.

the 10FX would be a step up from the X, would come in handy when working on vehicles with more defects.

if you are looking for a last step product, I have a couple "for sale" for cheap.
aside from that, you can purchase a coating which would be long term protection.

as others have said, wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant is a solid go to LSP.

JBruno did have some issues with the CG pads. Not sure if he ever worked on the Chevelle or not

So I'm actually getting back in the biz this year. Going completely mobile, for this year at least. I've been doing some research into new products and wow, shit has really advanced in a few years. There are some products out there that claim some awesome stuff. I'm really looking to up my game, add some better tools and products to my process, and get into the long-term paint protection products like ceramic coatings.

Anyway, one thing I am researching now is a mini rotary for those deeper scratches in hard to reach places. I always hated not being able to remove an imperfection because I couldn't get my pad to reach it safely. I am leaning towards the FLEX PE8-4, does anyone have any experience with it, or any other mini rotaries?

Adams has a mini polisher coming out. May buy it. Or I may make my own mini pads and extensions if I get time. Not sure what the Adams will cost but may be worth a look.

which foam canon are the majority using, and paired with what cleaner?

to hook it up, do i need anything special, or does it just attach to any hose/pressure washer?
