I've played this game a few times on another forum... and it's pretty fun. Anyone can play, doesn't matter what your skill level is. It's a great way to practice trade without the risk of losing $$.

I'm in the exact same boat, I've always wanted to try it but never wanted to risk my own cash trying to figure out how everything works.... Hopefully I'll get a good idea of it with this game.....

Any tips for the complete n00bs CobraJack ???

+1, same here, investing money will keep me from spending it

Ok I'm obviously clueless..

I tried buying a stock yesterday and got HOSED on the price.

I submitted an order for CARV when the going price was ~5.80 and it charged me 7.00!!!! wtf? did I do wrong? Instead of being up 13% I am down :(

then for FNM I tried buying too close to the end of the day I guess, so I missed the 1.3x price and got hit with the 1.58 price at open :(

whats with the 20 minute delay? is that how it works in real life?

you should have set a limit order at 1.3x

in real life orders are place almost instantly.

Thanks... but this still doesn't explain why I got hit with the 7.00 price on CARV

here was my order :
45921306
9/2/09 3:51 PM
9/2/09 4:11 PM
Buy
CARV
3,000
Market
$7.00
$10.00

take a look at the 5 day graph... http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/CARV

How did I get 7.00???

That order should have never been filled. You bought 3,000 shares, when less than 1,000 were actually traded that day.

if you want I can reset you.
