Nitto 555R 305/35/18s - 26.42" height, 12.4" width, 5/32 tread
BFG KDW 295/35/18s - 26.1" height, 12.2" width, 10/32 tread

I don't know much about street tires.

Nittos are a compromise tire that won't do anything well. I'm going to keep GSD3s on during DD and put the M/Ts on when I want to play. Buy a couple extra wheels and it only takes 15 minutes to swap.
Yea I agree. I couldent see getting an 18 inch radial to do too much but then again who knows. We raced a sprayed C6 last weekend that made 480 on motor and he hit it with a 150 shot and he was on street tires and some how he got those to work to a point :eek:h:

Hank wants a set of street radials and to get rid of his drag radials.

I got my 18" 315 BFG Drag radials to hook with no warmup on the 2001 GTS lat weekend. Plus I like them because the sidewall is so hard that they drive like a street tire at high speeds, I get nutty on the expressways. :burnout:

I am sure a 17" drag radial would hook better but my ghetto side needs 18" chrome. I do have a set of 17" drag radials for the track though.

:burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

Dont do the Nittos Hank.
295s will fill the well better.
Right after I posted I pretty much ruled them out. Now just to decide between the 295s and 315s. I really like the bulge on my 315s now, but I think getting the KDWs that size might be troublesome. Ill be driving the car 1000miles to Colorado and in the process going from 490rwhp actual to about 410-420rwhp actual due to the elevation. So I think I shouldnt have a problem hooking on street radials.

Jeffy - You do have dibs. They have about 1/3 thread on them.

go with the 295s, a buddy of mine has those on an 11 in rim and they still most definatly stick out and cover the rim edge, i think 315s might look a little goofy on an 18, but thats my o2

Get the 315/30. Piss on the extra 20mm of rubber on the ground-you won't notice the difference between 315/295. What you will notice is that they are 1/2 inch shorter which is like having MORE gear- which you will want especially since you're giving up 80 horses to the mountains.
