Bar I was at last night in st. charles had revolution anti hero. I ordered one and got this really dark and malty beer that I liked a bunch. Went to the bar and ordered another and it was amberish in color and more hoppy and fruity. Turns out the first beer was wild onion winter warmer. Both were good.

Not my pic but I had one of these the other day:

I also heard there is a British beer company called Wells that makes a banana-bread beer. I'm on a mission to find it.

FYI, 120 Min is out now. Binny's in Glen Ellyn had a bunch and I'm sure every other Binny's does as well. Also picked up a sixxer of 5 Lizard (haven't been able to find it for months) and a sixxer of Lagunita's Sucks.

Finally got out to Solemn Oath in Naperville. Very cool little taproom. Everything I tried was fantastic. Brought home a growler of their Butteryfly Flashmob which I was working on tonight. Its a very crisp, hoppy IPA with hints of citrus and floral. Worth the trip out there.

What did you think of Vertical Epic? Pretty wild stuff, almost too much going on in that beer imo. Boulevard is good shit, their Harvest Dance Wheat Wine is excellent. We brewed our own version of it that I may have at the chili cookoff if my partner hasnt drunken it all already. 120 min is good, but overrated.

I ordered a Sam Adams winter lager yesterday at the Village Tavern and they brought me a pint of what looked and smelled like a Blue Moon. I said, ya, this is not their winter lager. She asked if I was sure, and I was about to tell her this beer was like 5-6 srm at the most and their winter lager is more like 12 srm. I was with a buncha "coors like drinkers" (*cough*team octane and ddr*cough*) so I kept my beer nerdiness to myself. lol Waitress comes back to say sorry this is the spring seasonal Alpine Spring. It was quite good and refreshing, def a beer I could drink all day.

The Vertical Epic was interesting. Definitely not what I was expecting. Lots of flavors going on. It was dark, bitter, and sweet. I enjoyed it, but not my favorite.

I tried the Sam Adams Winter Lager back in November. It was ok, but pretty unmemorable IMO. Everything I've had from Sam's has been decent, but nothing to write home about.

Yeah I remember it being better last winter, but im not really a lager fan anyway, they just didnt have any craft beer at VTG. Give the Alpine Spring a try, not a bad session beer.

We got a batch of Aztec MR Beer going. Go ahead & laugh, its only my third time making my own brew with its help.
Long term goal is to one day make my own w/o any help.

Soon I will let the intoxication commence!

Walked into my local total wine tonight wondering what I was going to get to pass the evening, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a yellow gleaming display of something

This is the first time ive seen this stuff out here, and I'm always seeing people posting pictures of it on here, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Got it chilling right now, should be ready to go about the time the hawks drop puck tonight

I picked up A Little Crazy by Revolution. I'm digging it. Very hoppy but not bitter. I'm looking forward to checking out other shit from Revolution.

Hello Hello...

Sooooo there's this brewery called "Kona Brewing Co" it was originally exclusive to Hawaii and California. When we went out to Cali last year we tried it and it was absolutely delicious! So delicious that we have been following the company to try to see if they would ever distribute out this way. This January they began selling in Illinois both in stores and on tap (Fox and Hound has Big Wave which is the better of the beers imho) Anyways, you should go try to find this beer... they make a porter, a pale ale, and everything in between, i think they have 7 different brews right now. So go and find it and try it. Pleaseeeeee

Kona Brewing Company | Just another place with sand between its toes go to beer finder, and you can see stores/bars that have their beers. nifty!

Binnys in bolingbrook has some Kona beers, I have yet to try them. I had Revolutions Rye Stout, very good stout, but failed to get any rye flavor or spiciness. It did have great body and roastiness with nice body, but poor lacing and head retention for only being 6%.

Kona's Coconut Porter is one of my favorite beers of the style.

I just received a 4-pack of Heady Topper in a trade so one of those will be going down tonight.
