What does that have to do with the galaxy s? Oh that was an iPhone 4 joke.... Next time I'm in new York city I'll try the signal loss test with the finger, for some reason it doesn't happen around here

I can talk on my Droid while Lisa uses the WiFi Tether
Hell, when I had my LG Versa we could use the laptop tethered while talking on the phone... That was over a year ago?

the processor is fast enough where it takes a shitload to even show a hiccup. batter works like charm for me, i cant complain over 30+ hours of life with pretty heavy use. i like sense the way it is honestly. either way, its a preference more than anything else. most the stuff listed is stuff i dont need cause the phone does everything i could ask of it.

like i said, when root does something better that makes it more than an afterthought, ill look into it more, until then, i cant be happier with my phone

This was interesting. cnet is a bunch of ifans for sure. I think they missed the boat on the android widgets. And I am sorry but the screen size is a bonus. But pretty good review. The reception of the iphone 4 IS a issue. A few people may be lucky. But every one I know with a iphone 4 says they have issues with the reception. And even the old iphone had issues with AT&Ts network. Friends bitch all the time they drop calls. One of the reasons I didn't get a iphone 4 was current iphone users complaints. Most of them even say they like the EVO just as much as their iphone 4. Well besides my one diehard ifan buddy. lol A couple of them wanted a EVO but had to stay with AT&T and iphone because of family plans and such. I don't think you could go wrong with either phone for their options. A few drop calls is not the end of the world either.

When the iphone first came out there was nothing even close to the iphone in capability and user interface. It is nice to see they have competition. Works out for all of us.

from android central... im still waiting to hear from someone on the boards i frequent that they got an update, nothing yet. but a bigger site reporting something is a good start. i know they do tend to roll out shit very slowly

Quote:
Droid Incredible owners everywhere should be stoked to learn that an oft-rumored over-the-air update has finally started being pushed to phones by HTC and Verizon, albeit in a trickle thus far. The update contains a bunch of new features, but the big ones are 720p video recording, Verizon's Wifi hotspot (same as what is in the Palm Pre Plus and Droid X), a new boot animation, and Amazon's MP3 store app. HTC has been good enough to throw in a couple new widgets as well.

It does look like Verizon is starting the rollout slowly, which is standard practice these days (remember that anytime you hear someone throw out a hard date for an update release). That's in part to lessen server loads and also to keep an eye on things and make sure the update's going OK (and perhaps to avoid similar issues to what happened with the Evo 4G awhile back). Users can try to get theirs a bit earlier by going into "About Phone" in the Settings and clicking "System Updates," or wait until the download location leaks out and upgrade manually.

Once my "DInc" gets blessed by Verizon, I will be sure to post some new screenshots. Until then, why not head over to discuss all things Incredible in the Android Central Forums? Happy updating!

weee, rumors are all over the place now, heres some more shit to read and then watch to see if it comes true.

Quote:
We just received a juicy tip about the HTC DROID Incredible software update schedule that we’d like to share. One of our strategically placed Ninjas was kind enough to pass along an email from HTC that read as follows:

"I wanted to pass along that the upcoming Incredible MR will also include Froyo (originally it was going to be two separate MRs).

We are targeting the end of the month/first part of August. As a reminder, below are the highlights:"
* Froyo
* 802.11 n
* 3G Mobile Hot Spot
* HTC Widget: Email
* HTC Widget: News
* EAS Updates
* 720p Video Recording
* Amazon MP3
* Skype
* My Verizon

Obviously, the news here is that the Incredible update that began rolling out this weekend will — in all likelihood — be halted, and a sexier, Froyo-inclusive update will be pushed out in the coming weeks. The update will also include 802.11n Wi-Fi support, 3G Mobile Hot Spot, 720p video recording, and more. Not bad news for Incredible owners. What do you think? Is Android 2.2 worth an extra few weeks of waiting?

I am quite pissed with this.. One of the main reasons why I got my evo was Skype. Now, once I got the phone I learned that it wasn't supporting the bloody thing.

Ok, I thought, I still can use fring.. Well, the buffoons from fring came to an intelligent decision - since iphone fanboys are using the video conferencing so much, and it strains their servers, they just pulled skype off the supported apps list..

now, i'm stuck with nimbuzz...

Verizon tech reps on Twitter all but confirmed a BGR source who leaked an e-mail sent out by HTC. The e-mail gave details on when Droid Incredible owners could expect their 2.2 ("Froyo") update, plus all the goodies that were rumored to have been sent out as an OTA update this past weekend. Here's Big Red's Tweet in question, referencing the BGR post:

"Told ya RT @BGR HTC DROID Incredible to be updated to
Froyo end of July, early August http://goo.gl/fb/dSyGv"

HTC and Verizon seem to have decided to roll the 720p video and Froyo updates into one big ball of love to DI owners, which is fine by me. The features include: Froyo (duh), 802.11n Wifi, Verizon's 3G Wifi hotspot, 720p video recording, Amazon's MP3 store (Finally!) and a number of other app and widget goodies.
