Should I change my oil before vacation?

What do you guys think? I've got 1100 miles on this oil so far and it's 1000 each way plus driving around so we'll say 2500 miles for my total trip.

Technically but the second was pre fucked not my fault. This one has been flawless

Oh I've got shell rotella synthetic 5w40 in there with own Subaru filter ( made by purolator I believe)

How many miles has it been since the swap? If you don't know the exact history of the motor regardless of how it runs right now, i would change the oil again for that kind of trip. I like to do early oil changes for the first few on swapped motors just to try and catch any problems early.

With the new engine you better run it until the oil is jet black. Then drain it, and run some water through it to make sure you've got it all out. Let the motor run while the water is running through it just to make sure it cleans EVERYWHERE. After that you should be able to just put back the oil you just used into the motor because it should be good for 10K or so miles.

I say you are fine. You can do it for peace of mind, but IMO, you are fine.

Put some meijers dino blood in there and call it a day. Don't even change the filter.

You should be fine for the most part, however, to be safe than sorry, I would say change prior to leaving.
