Top Ten Tick Cities - Chicago Tops Another List

SMH at seeing Chicago is at the top of the list.

A recent report from the CDC revealed that infections from diseases transmitted by ticks, mosquitoes and fleas have tripled in the U.S. between 2004 and 2016.

Those living in or visiting New England, the mid-Atlantic states and the Upper Midwest face the greatest threat from a potential tick bite, the CDC warned.

The ticks are very real this year, I've had two mysterious ones just crawling on me hours after I've been outside. I really hate ticks and mosquitoes so much.

I live here in the country of IL, not have seen one. Been in WI for 2 weeks, pulled 2 of the dog, 5 off the wife and none of me.

We live in Toronto. And Toronto has seen quite a rise in tick bites among pets. We use chewable meds for both Heartworm and Ticks.

For Ticks we now use Nexgard - given orally once a month. We used to use BravEcto given every 2 months.

For Heartworm we give our dog chewable Heartgard Plus. He has a double coat so we are happy that we no longer have to use the topical Revolution.

We buy both meds from Pet Express

Chicago has a big bed bug problem too. I have a lot of out of area coworkers who dread staying in Chicago for just this reason.

The Windy City ranked No. 3 on the list of top 50 bed bug cities for the second year running, though it is an improvement. Chicago previously held the no. 1 position from 2012-2016.
