Sounds like the male passenger was a jerk but, how bad do you have to smell to get kicked off a plane? This happened in 2016 and the woman has now sued United Airlines.

According to the lawsuit, Obioma boarded the plane and found a while male passenger sitting in her assigned business class seat, from which he refused to move. When a flight attendant failed to resolve the conflict as the man continued to refuse to move to his own assigned seat, Obioma agreed to take his spot.

Obioma went to the restroom before takeoff and returned to find the man blocking her from accessing the seat for several minutes. The mother then alleges that a United staffer, identified as Russel H., instructed her to step off the plane, where she was informed by another United agent that the pilot requested that she exit as the man causing trouble complained that she was “pungent” and did not feel comfortable flying with her.

United Airlines sued by Nigerian passenger booted for

The woman was in business class while her children were in economy. All were escorted off the plane and put on a later flight. No word on whether she showered.

Flying is bad enough these days. Don't want to deal with someone who reeks the entire flight, or is so fat that they spill over into your seat.

If you're stinking up the plane because you haven't discovered proper hygiene, or your so fat that you don't fit in the seat, then take another form of transportation please.

Don’t really care about the article, but man is this the truth.

Do airlines still require people over a certain weight/size to buy 2 tickets ?

They must be, because on the news a week or 2 ago some big fat slob was playing the race card
about being kicked off a flight because her blubber was laying on the guy next to her.
They did not have space to give her 2 seats so off she went.

Which is exactly how it should be.
If you are a fat lazy slob you don't get more than you pay for.
I was 272 lbs and fit in the seat just fine, so how in the hell fat are these people???
Typical entitlement leeches think the big bad company should have to lose money because they are a weak minded slob!!!!
If you paid for a seat, you get that seat & not part of the space you or I paid for!!!!

Had that at the hockey game, some giant fat guy that smelled & smoked sat next to me.
It was unbearable.
Imagine that for a 3 hour plus flight in an enclosed aluminum tube :(

I don't know... I've seen some blimps get on Southwest flights and pour themselves into a single seat. I'm 6'2" 275 and I feel like I'm right on the cusp...and these folks are twice my size or more.

Exactly, just how much do some of these people weigh and think that's the new normal and they deserve to fly for regular cost, but take up 150% of a seat???
I'm 6'2" and was 275 when we went to Disney World and I had plenty of room left.
Some of these people made me look like a child!!!
I can't believe they could even breath after stuffing all that blubber into a airplane seat??
