A spokesperson for United further tells Fox News that the traveler(s) with the peacock were told they would not be able to bring it on board.

"This animal did not meet guidelines for a number of reasons, including its weight and size. We explained this to the customers on three separate occasions before they arrived at the airport," said United in a statement.

You go to Lowes or somewhere and there's a pet either scrabbling around on the floor or being carried by its owner. Sometimes it's barking at everybody. The owner usually has a "F You" look on their face. I'm bringing my emotional support animal and you can't stop me.

Seeing the support animal is actually a pretty good way to identify a selfish jerk.

I think stores should go back to only allowing real service animals. I have respect for these highly trained helpers.

Most of those stores are pet friendly, has nothing to do with service animals. I know Home Depot allows dogs as long as theyre on a leash....

I know many people who go to Home Depot with their dogs to work on nosework during the winter.

Technically Dogs aren't really allowed at home depot unless they are service dogs. I just wasn't about to get into a fight with a customer over bringing their dog into the store.

People are just abusing a system for flights because they fly free if they are a service pet. I saw one that was obviously not one at Ohare. People just buy the "service dog" stuff on amazon.

I see dogs in Home Depot all the time, especially when its pet adoption day at the PetsMart right next to the one in Schaumburg.

Hell, some even have dog treats at the damn register and have employees who bring their dogs to work for their needs as well.

Yeah and if you look outside you will usually find these.

Your last link is service dogs. Which are allowed.

Never seen that at a single Home Depot, but will actually pay attention for it in the future. I know every one Ive been to is fine with dogs being in the store and like I mentioned I know many people who do their training there in winter.

I know what the last link is, its why I wrote people who work there use them for their needs.

The reason you see them in Home Depot is the same reason they are in Menards. There is a policy against them but it is next to impossible to enforce. The few times we have tried we get those wonderful entitled assholes yelling in our face that it's their emotional support animal (usually while their terribly trained pet is tearing into food in the grocery dept, marking corners of shelves, disturbing/scaring other guests, or just taking a dump in the middle of an aisle) we've given up, everyone thinks they are the exception to the rule if they don't like it.

Don't get me wrong, if your dog is well behaved i would never bother you about it. I have 2, they go with me to petsmart occasionally, but they are properly trained and behave in public. It's the ones who can't (or won't) correct and train their pet that ruins it for all (seems to apply to non-furry children as well come to think about it)

The problem is that anyone can purchase a "service dog" outfit for their dog. I can spot the difference between a real service dog and these fake ones from a mile away. I see more fake than real these days so I am glad the airlines are requiring real documentation.

the Schaumburg Home depot is pet friendly. Never seen a no dog sign. We bring our boxer to PetsMart and then walk over to Home Depot sometimes. I'd rather he be with us than have to lock him alone in the car, never had anything problems. I would never bring an untrained or an asshole dog in there though
