I landed at Midway last year with something like 60 mph gusts. Plane was getting tossed around pretty good on descent from 10,000 to landing. You could hear the wind roaring over the fuselage above the noise of the engies. I would have sharted on some of those landings.

holy shit, nope no thanks. I've experienced a few gusty touchdowns and an aborted landing once. The aborted landing was interesting, <200 ft from touchdown, then full throttle and we were climbing again, pilot said we hit some crosswinds.

I am extremely afraid of flying but have to occasionally fly for work, and I landed at O'hare with the winds 50-55mph gusts and that was just about the most frightening thing I've ever experienced in my life. I think I was the only one on the plane freaking out (on the inside, I wasn't like screaming or anything) everyone looked so GD calm. The guy next to me was sleeping.

I've been on a few high wind landings, never an aborted landing though. They're...entertaining Best one was probably landing in Tampa in high winds, got a big gust as we were touching down. Left wheel touched down, then went airborne, then right wheel touched down, then back airborne, then pilot must've said fuck it and slammed the stick down and all wheels down at once. One of the hardest landings I've had. There were tons of people freaking out. I just couldn't stop laughing.

Also, this is why the pay pilots large amounts of money.

I have been on a couple of landings that you were being blown around like that. You can feel the plane isn't flying straight. It is flying like a car dog-tracking. It's a trip. Also not so fun. lol
