So this song by Thrice has been rocking me for like the past month...I have since discovered Seether has covered it.

So for equal comparison sake, here is the song by both bands done "live". Honestly, they sound pretty similar in alot of ways, both are fantastic.

I stumbled across the Seether version a few months back. There is no doubt Shaun does a great job with it for sure. But the Sessions live version is great. I can't take that away from Dustin. The song is bad ass too. It's about the US going to war over oil. But seems to work well in a individuals quest to want to do/have better.

Dustin sings a lot in that fry register. Which is the gruff sounding low sound. His voice was shot for a while. He seems to have gotten over that though.


Also, seether does a ton of cover songs. Many of them are outstanding.

Both are fantastic, and I can't really pick either but that's partially my bias toward Seether.


I take that back- I have not heard Thrice's sessions version, they definitely do it better. Dustin kills it.

Corey Taylor actually has a pretty incredible voice. Never was a huge fan of Stone Sour but you gotta give him credit for going from self-titled and Iowa albums and still having a voice.
