I can't say I hate the look of the car, kinda Fiat-esque. With that being said KIA left a bad taste in my mouth after my ex's 2011 Forte needed a longblock at 50k and it sat at the dealer for 5 months lol.

Only if three of the same issues occur within first 12 months of ownership. Chances of that are pretty slim.

For me it's peace of mind. If I'm buying something new I want it to be dead nuts reliable. For me it's not "oh shit my truck broke down on my way to work" it's "oh shit my truck broke down in central Nebraska with 11,000#'s in tow..." so something iffy gets repaired or the boot rather quickly.

Doesn't seem too far off. NHTSA/EPA estimates are a lot tighter now than they used to be, I tend to take their word for it.

This is exactly why I bought my Cruze as a 2013 model. still had GM's 100k warranty. was the third year and they fixed a lot of stupid things. And gets my average of 30mpg.

Keep in mind, the 10yr/100k warranty is only on the drivetrain. The basic vehicle warranty is 5yr/60k.

Also that 10y100k is only if you go by their maintenance schedule. So if it says it needs a timing belt at 60k and you don't do it...then no warranty for you.

You can't lose with the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. I have made full use of ours on the old van.

The caveat though, is you have to bring it in annually to have them inspect it.

Yeah I know, we have it on my wife's jeep. It's a 2008 with 241k on it. It's on original motor and 2nd trans. The suspension is jacked mow and we need to upgrade.

Ours is 2007 and it's had one engine, one transmission and pretty much everything but the body and the alternator replaced. And I refuse to replace that damn alternator as long as it's putting out power, despite that stupid fucking noisey ADP clutching mechanism on it that freezes up and makes an atrocious racket under light load at idle.

However, the current Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is a little different than us original 2006 - 2009 owners as you will see on this link. There is a tab for us on the 2006 - 2009 group.
