For me it's peace of mind. If I'm buying something new I want it to be dead nuts reliable. For me it's not "oh shit my truck broke down on my way to work" it's "oh shit my truck broke down in central Nebraska with 11,000#'s in tow..." so something iffy gets repaired or the boot rather quickly.

Ours is 2007 and it's had one engine, one transmission and pretty much everything but the body and the alternator replaced. :D And I refuse to replace that damn alternator as long as it's putting out power, despite that stupid fucking noisey ADP clutching mechanism on it that freezes up and makes an atrocious racket under light load at idle.

However, the current Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is a little different than us original 2006 - 2009 owners as you will see on this link. There is a tab for us on the 2006 - 2009 group.
