With Miss Esa who just got Admitted with preeclampsia at 34 weeks pregnant with our baby girl.

Anyone been through this saga? She is basically bed bound until either 37 weeks when they intend to induce her, or if her symptoms worsen. 3 weeks of Bed Rest is a little extreme, what have you (or your significant others done) to help the time pass when hospital bound?

I'm sitting in the room with her about to start up ol' Farm Simulator and catching up on emails.

My wife had preeclampsia with our last child. They take it pretty serious. She was admitted at 34 weeks then sent home. Re admitted at 35. At that point our obgyn had to call a bunch of specialists to see what to do

Initially they wanted to induce right there at 35 weeks. Then all the Drs decided it would be better to wait 1 week. Next came the debate on whether or not to make her wait out the week in the hospital or at home. Lucky for us the meds they gave her in the hospital, labatel(Sp), I believe worked. So they let her go home in bed rest.

Induced at 36 weeks and had a happy 10lb baby boy!

It sucks with all the uncertainties but I'm sure everything will go ok.

We did not, but my sister had this. Unfortunately, I think it was a ton of rest until forced/induced labor. Not much else to do.

On another note, CDH is a good place for this. I was born there (when it was just a little building in the middle of nowhere) and both our kids were born there in their new NICU.

A buddy of mine has been through it twice with their two kids. First one (girl) was delivered emergency c-section at 25 weeks to save his wife's life. Baby was uber premature, and was at CDH NICU for almost 3 months. She's totally fine now (almost 4 years old), but it was touch and go for the first few weeks. Their second (boy) was born around 30 weeks. Also premature but spent far less time in hospital.

REALLY REALLY good that she's already 34 weeks. Baby could be born tonight and be totally fine. Good news is they'll likely induce her if he blood pressure gets anywhere near dangerous.

Good luck and I hope you have a Netflix account!

i feel with my small group of friends, used for this viewpoint, unconventional pregnancy's and pregnancy complications are more common than not nowadays...
I feel like doctors can find way more shit now and take extra precautions with that info. Most people I know and it seems to hold true for this thread is you have some sort of complication, after bed rest, emergency c section whatever the doc wants to do almost everytime the result is a healthy baby.

CDH is under a perpetual constant reconstruction...

My last one was born in 2008.

Back in '72 it was the one little center building in that whole complex. Now look at it.

The Women's and Children's Pavillion on the NW corner of the complex.

The most important thing is that it is pretty close to the cafeteria. :D

Last time I was actually there was ~2 years ago in the final days of my Grandmother. We were in the new wing on the SW corner. I brought her a McD's strawberry shake, which she promptly spilled all over the new carpet in the lobby section of that wing. :D But my Wife and kids are there constantly for something. The old van (that's mine now), has all the fine dings and smashed bumper covers from their valet service. :D
