Chances are she was maxed out on life support and probably had a medication or two decreased slightly. This makes people think their loved one is doing better or more stable. Reality is that when you are in that bad of shape, there is usually a calm before the storm. Most people that have heart attacks in the hospital don't really do all that well. Unfortunately, she didn't have a chance in the long run. Better to go quick than linger in that state IMO. RIP.
