I love planets. How long do you think it'll be before the average joe can casually go up into space?

I don't think it will ever be cheap. We'd need to discover a seriously high energy fuel to get cheap commercial orbital flights. And right now we don't have anything on the horizon that can provide the required power.

NASA is doing cool stuff with an Ion engine, but its not ready for use, and even then will only be useful in zero g environments, it won't get anything into orbit.

An Ion thruster might be useful for a high altitude glider though that needs long duration flights.

Also, I love how pictures of Mars could be the desert here on earth. Its so earth like for the terrain. Aside from its reddish hue.

Does space scare anyone else?

I dont know why I freeze up....it's so huge, no oxygen, no nothing...I dont know why I think "how would I survive there"? omg...I'd die !

then I take a breath and realize that theres no way in hell I would get there to began with....hahahaahahah
