Gas Leak - Need HVAC ASAP

Smelled gas in the house last night, did the soap+water trick and found out where it's leaking from. Luckily it's after the shutoff inside. Gas is off now, no more smell but it's cold in here!

Anyone know an HVAC guy that can come out and fix it? OR Something I can do in the mean time?

Note: I normally don't like touching things that can go BOOM if you do it wrong.

Is it just leaking from a fitting? It's a real simple fix if so with gas teflon tape or gas pipe dope.

shut off the gas, break the union apart, unthread pipe, apply dope(preferably) or tape, reassemble

same thing applies. disassemble piping to that point, dope or tape any connection you loosen or separate, re assemble.

nothing to be scared of, just double check for leaks with soap solution the same way you found it. It'll save you $80+ or whatever someone is going to charge you for a minimum or an hour labor

Also you need gas and a spark to go boom. Gas is off.....and unless you are smoking or hitting shit metal to metal to make a spark... youll be fine

The other question would be do you have pipe wrenches so you can get everything back together tightly....

There's what I'm working with. Where do I start taking shit apart to replace the nipple it's leaking from. Bought a new nipple, have dope and wrenches.

Start right of the white arrow by turning that til the bend is free. Then twist it off the long pipe and replace. (That's where I'd start)
