I've been browsing the interwebs for a while now and still can't decide on a good detector. I've leaning towards the Passport 9500ix, yeah the $400 one. Is it worth the money? Can anyone attest to a better/cheaper one? Idc too much about price but cheaper is more sensible.

Side note:
I need to keep my no ticket streak alive and Palos Cops ( I think EmersonHart13 knows the struggle) have been hiding out like camouflaged mofos on my commute every morning, and frankly I'm tired of breaking my neck checking for the fuzz. Any advice is good advice.

I have the 9500ix and am thinking about upgrading to the max2. The 9500ix has been saving me from KA band for years now. I remember the first trip after I got it we drove to Western Illinois university and it didn't go off once. On the way home it went off and I slowed down immediately. A mile and a half later there was a state trooper. Besides laser it has kept me from tickets for a few years now.

Escort Max 360 - In my DD, the best detector i have ever had
Passport Max - Wife Car, also very good but lacks bluetooth and arrows
Escort Redline - Vette, very good but lacks GPS, I may be replacing it this season

9500ix - lots of friends run this detector, very good for the money, look for amazon sales on this unit.

My recommendation: Max 360 if you can swing the price

9500ix is still a solid radar detector, despite its several years old now. Mine has paid for itself in avoided speeding tickets more than I can count . I've been eyeing the max 360 for a replacement.... dem arrows and blocking K band pulsing from new cars is worth it to me.

Im definetly leaning towards the 9500ix becuase it has the feature to eliminate false readings via GPS. In one of the videos Ive watched it eliminates the false reading from supermarket sliding doors? Idk if thats a major problem but it could get really annoying.

Yes it will remember false alarms (automatic doors, speed signs, etc.) based on static frequencies and GPS coordinates. The database also stores red light and speed cameras using GPS, that requires a subscription for updates to stay current. You will still get false alarms from new cars, some are using radar for their nanny systems which gets annoying.

Yeah I know that. Lane departure warning bs. I feel less safe when Im next to someone who needs that. And what susbscription do you need? I keep seeing "youll have to join blah blah blah in order to get the updates". Is it on your phone or what?

radar connects to a PC with a USB cable for the defender database updates. The other alternative is the Escort Live app which integrates with your phone.

Amen. This is SO annoying. I've almost considered going to a MAX just for that reason... otherwise, I run either 8500 or 9500 in all my cars.

I had the 9500ix but after getting pulled over with the thing not even making a peep I decided to sell it I usually don't speed enough to get pulled over anyway.
The new truck has the passport srx detector/shifter but I'm probably going to take that out too.
I don't see a point in having one in the camaro cut if they want to pull me over they have many reasons without me speeding. Lol
