Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer of the heavy metal band Motörhead, has died aged 70, PEOPLE can confirm.
The news was first reported by radio personality and longtime friend Eddie Trunk, on Twitter. The band's official Facebook page then released a statement confirming that Lemmy had passed away "after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer".
