My backyard butts up to a small-ish conservation and I hear coyotes all the time. Almost to the point where they sound like they're right behind my shed. Of course, Thor loses his god damn mind every time he hears them.

Sounds like every night out here. 1 or 2 in the morning they usually start going crazy.

One will go and scout. The rest will flank.

Ha... we hear this all the time. Coyotes out here grab the small dogs out of yards all the time and vanish into the corn with them. You can hear them all out there howling and celebrating as they tear their food apart. Just about every night out by me you hear them.

Thankfully, my dogs are all pretty big.... so I don't have to worry about that. Pretty sure two neighbors have lost small dogs tho.

I don't think I'd hesitate to shoot one out here if it were going after my dog(s), thats for sure.

Also... packs of 2-4??? HA! I've seen them in packs of waaay more than that. Out here they're pretty big too, probably 30-50# in most cases. I've seen a few larger than that too!
