Not usually a good plan to be so aggressive with the throat, especially right off the bat with the first guy. Eventually, he's going to hurt someone and it will come back to bite him in the ass.

Other than that, he controlled multiple subjects at once quite well, and IDK what the first guy did to initiate the contact, but the second guy definitely brought it upon himself

From what I've heard, guy was swinging at people when the Deputy arrived, including the Deputy. Not sure of the veracity of that.

I will give him points for a measured response and deduct points for not having a second set of cuffs in a large group. Lacking in prep for the situation he was in IMO. He used a lot of force but considering the danger he was in from a large and potentially unruly crowd (that funnily enough in the end was trying to hold the guy) not totally out of the question.

The two men seen tussling with the deputy on the video are from St. Petersburg. Both 25-year-old Joshua McMahan and 24-year-old Justin Lewis were arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer as well as disorderly conduct.

Josh McMahan has been arrested 9 times (including this one) in Pinellas County. Armed Robbery, Commercial Burglary (more than once), Battery, Agg Assault, and a slew of other shit. Now he's been charged with Felony battery on a LEO. And the other guy has just as many. Vehicle Burglaries, DWLSR, Felony Battery that got him some state prison time. The guy in the article was right about "lowest common denominator"
