Rental Property Write Offs?

What are some of the common rental property write offs people have? I am going to an accountant for my taxes and didn't keep track of things the way I did last year. I know there are depreciation items that they can deduct and from last year and a few other expenses here and there that I have records of. I'm scared to do my taxes this year because of the rental property and no major expenses with the house to write off this year like I did in the past. I know certain expenses are "allowable" without much justification so I guess those are the types of things I'm looking for. :eek3: And anything I might not have considered.

Your accountant should be able to tell you those things.

You can depreciate the non property value of your property, along with improvements over 30 years.

write off travel mileage to the rental, home insurance, repairs, fees to contractors/accountants/etc,interest on the loan.

Just the tip of the iceberg there.
