TV Wall Mount

Anyone have this unit? I want one that moves around because my couches are a little off center and sometimes we get some sunlight glare. This has good reviews BUT I would have to tear into the wall to mount it more sturdily.

I actually have that right now, its holding up my 42inch tv in my basement.

For the most part I like it, it holds the TV up fine and is easily moveable.

The two complaints I have is that you need 2 people to install it (i know not a major issue as most need 2 people). And the second is that when it is fully extended outwards it feels like the tv could fall.

Mount a piece of wood to the wall where the studs are then mount the TV mount to the wood.

I put in a stud for a mount we installed at my brothers. It wasn't worth it. They sell models that mount to 2 studs and adjust the center point. I'd go that route.

This. Paint the pieces of wood the color of the wall to better hide them. Should be a no-brainer.

See I have a 51inch Samsung plasma. I didn't want to get it if it felt cheap

Shit mine was like $20 from ikea. It didn't extend out though and I mounted it right to the piece of wood on the wall AND it's one of those big ass heavy flat screens from when they first came out.

listen shorty. There are the same style ones for up to 100 bucks. Almost look exactly the same. I just wasn't sure if I want to trust it with my heavier plasma.

I would imgaine it depends more on the max allowable weight it'll hold.

Rich I had a 55 led and and I switched to 65 plasma and it was like 10 times heavier but the mount I have was just fine. I think I paid $60 for mine on Amazon a few years back. U should be fine with that mount U posted. I can't see a 51 weighing more than 50-60 pounds

check the weight on the tv, check the max allowance of the wall mount. if the tv weighs less then what the wall mount will hold, then you are golden.

check to see if you have a stud where you want one to be. might be the deciding factor of getting one if you will have to have it mounted goofy.

online says my TV weights 44 pounds. and the unit says up to 80. so I am golden. I hope

I have a $25 amazon wall mount that holds up my 55" LED TV. I built a subwall that has wooden studs (damn metal studs not evenly spaced (rofl) ) so I could have a mounted tv with cables in the wall.. Cables that hang down.... gay as fuck.


NFG and it works perfect.

That's exactly my plan. So since I need to cut holes for the cables and wall plate I'll just run some 2x4's between the two studs cause of course the center of the wall doesn't have a stud.
