Not sure if this has been posted but came across this while at work. A 30 percent bill increase starting in June! I know that increase will even affect people with apartments that don't pay very much right now such as myself . I feel horrible for you large home folks. This is straight robbery. You can thank the EPA for a good portion of it to.

Hope the link works. It was mobile on my phone.

I will start now looking for that alternative power company. I already pay my bill every couple months when it gets up a couple hundred instead of every month, like my water bill as well.

This wont matter. It says in the article that a lot of people use different suppliers to cut down on the costs by 3-5 cents per kilowat, they said this increase is for everyone. So even if you opt for a different supplier it will go up the same amount

I'm already signed up to some alternative company so i'm not sure how this will affect me. Will be keeping a close eye on my bill this summer.

Same as my post above. They said it will most likely bring your savings from 3-5 cents now per kilowat down to fractions of a penny. basically making the alternative companies worthess as far as cost savings. Def watch your bills

Quote below from the Article

"As a result, it's not just ComEd customers who will see higher bills. Other suppliers, including the many private firms that compete with ComEd in Illinois' deregulated power market, will charge more, as well.

For example, municipalities that helped switch residents to new suppliers and found bargain deals over the past several years are unlikely to snag similar savings going forward. In Chicago, customers of Integrys, which took over from ComEd as residential supplier, at one point enjoyed a savings of about 3 cents per kilowatt-hour over prices charged by ComEd. Soon the difference will be fractions of a penny per kwh."

I think I have a 2 or 3 year lock but I have to double check, shits crazy tho the price of everything in Illinois is rising faster then company's can give cost of living raises, it dosnt help that my company's main office is out of OK and they have next to nothing for cost of living so the bosses look at what we make up here and get all pissy, property taxes are as high as a mortgage on a nice house down there
