What ain't no country I ever heard of
I have a V1 3.826. It has been repaired twice over the years for false alerts, free both times even though out of warranty, btw. I put my serial # in and they want 200 for the newest upgrade.....some sort of crystal controlled frequency tuning, amongst other things. Seems like 200 for an upgrade on a 400 unit is extreme?

Question is, should I upgrade? Sell this and buy new? Or get an Escort 9500ix? Something else? Wondering what you guys use.

Newer cars are using K band for adaptive cruise control/collision detection. It sucks because I'm starting to get more false alarms myself. I should update my firmware to see if it helps with that. My vote would be the Escort 9500ix. GPS remembered locations and red light/speed camera warnings are awesome.

Ive got the 9500ix in the supra and an 8500 in the prelude...the 8500 gets a ton of false now and reminds me it needs service once in awhile. Its been solid otherwise...ill likely upgrade it for 9500 if i can find another steal on one.

I have had a V1 and 9500ix and now a Passport Max. The V1 has far too many false alarms. The 9500ix was a lot better all around and now I have a Max which is the best yet..The wife still has a V1 in her car and she seems to tolerate the annoying false signals better than me. The GPS capability plus no false alarms puts the Passport Max way ahead..
