I have always wanted a hot dog steamer. Too impractical to buy, though. this little toaster might do the job.

Got one from my in laws for Christmas. Seems like just something else to try to cram in the cupboards to me. Not like hot dogs are hard to cook and I don't really care if the buns are toasted. If I do want them toasted I have a toaster oven. May return.

Temp settings for the dog and buns aren't individually adjustable. It's impossible to get the buns and dogs the ideal temps/crispiness at the same time.

I dunno... I feel like this is more of a novelty than something people actually need. Its pretty hard to fuck up cooking a hot dog, whether you're boiling it or BBQ'ing it.

IMO, the best two ways to cook hot dogs are grilling and steaming.

If you don't have a steamer, you can take a cooling rack or fish/veggie grilling rack and put it over a big pot of simmering water. Add hot dogs then put a tall lid on it. You are basically just trying to create a steam chamber. Let the dogs steam gently until they are heated and delicious. Toss the buns on the do it yourself steamer at the end.

I like to sprinkle with celery salt and add mustard. Tasty.

I have a popcorn popper. i use it pretty often and it's healthier.

You pull them before they get saturated. May only take a minute or so in the steamer chamber. I try to get the buns warm and steamy without having them too wet.
