New RC car pick up

Yeah, that's why I bought a 30mph RTR truck... Hopefully I stay happy with it out of the box. First investment will be a better charger for sure. The included charger is SLOW.

I believe the Flux line of Hpi cars are lipo brushless variants. The blitz has the blitz Flux, unless that's the one you bought.

I bought a hobbypartz lipo charger. It's awesome and cheap. Will charge nimh and nicd too.

As far as motors go I've always bought castle creations stuff.

You could always try finding an hpi flux setup. I always see guys parting new trucks out on eBay so might get lucky?

Lipo batteries do wonders though.

I was just looking at a Revo 4.6 for like $500. I spent well over $1000 on my T-max and it still is not as quick as the Revo out of the box

You can go brushless/lipo cheap and have good performance. This is my daughter's SCT with a large can Tacon 3000kv on 3s geared for torque, not speed:









I vented the heck out of the body but it still parachutes and takes flight. Had to pull the body for most speed runs.

24/78 fastest pass I saw was 50, several passes at 49. With this combo and gearing 60+ would be easy. My temps were very low for the motor, ESC, and battery so a lot more was available. I set this up for torque, it was having a hard time getting through the lawn out of the box. After the hop ups, you could pull wheelies at 30+ in the grass.
